Railroad and telegraph license tax ledger, 1926-1955.

This series consists of a ledger containing the Comptroller's Office record of the fees collected and distributed by banks for the railroad and telegraph license tax from 1926 to 1955. The tax collected from railroads was determined by the number of miles of track and from telegraph companies by the number of miles of poles. Types of information include records of checks written by the banks; itemized accounts of taxes collected from railroad and telegraph companies; and distributions to counties. There is an alphabetical index by bank name in the front.
